Jay McNamara is Executive Vice President of Affiliate & Ad Sales and Strategy Development & Analysisat NBCUniversal International, based in Los Angeles. McNamara’s primary responsibility is to structure long-term content distribution, channel affiliate and ad sales agreements for NBCUniversal’s Global Distribution & International Networks teams in order to maximize the long-term value of the company’s assets. 

McNamara’s role is heavily focused on analysing industry and competitive trends and monitoring the performance of the company’s content and channels around the world via extensive audience research. On the commercial side, his team maintains responsibility for the planning, evaluation and negotiation support of the long-term content and channel distribution deals, as well  for the for the total Affiliate and Ad Sales revenue streams of the International Networks business.  Reporting to Belinda Menendez, President & Chief Revenue Officer, Global Distribution and International, NBCUniversal, he leads a team of over 75 employees, across nine offices in six countries. 

Until the end of 2017, McNamara oversaw hayu – NBCUniversal’s all-reality SVOD service, having led the development and launch of the service that is now available in seven countries: the UK, Ireland, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark. He also had oversight of Picturebox – NBCU’s SVOD film service – and for the distribution of non-US channels to US-based multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs). 

McNamara joined NBCUniversal in 2000 as the Director of Finance for Television Distribution at Universal Studios, working on both international and domestic sales. Prior to joining NBCUniversal, he held a variety of positions in finance, marketing and operations at the oil company, ARCO (Atlantic Richfield).

McNamara began his career with Touche Ross Management Consulting, now part of Deloitte. 

He has an undergraduate degree in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and completed his MBA at the Anderson School at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
