Jinny Howe is Vice President of Drama Series at Netflix. In this role she is responsible for setting the strategic and creative direction for a rich portfolio of scripted dramas through development, greenlighting and current production. She also oversees a team responsible for acquiring licensed series programming designed to enrich and complement the Netflix library of content.

Howe joined Netflix in 2018 to oversee the development and production of serialized dramatic content specifically in the character drama space. In this role she managed several overall deals including Shondaland, Tribeca, and Sugar23. She has played an integral role on such critically-acclaimed and culture-defining shows as Bridgerton, Maid, and Inventing Anna; with recent breakout hits including The Lincoln Lawyer and From Scratch. Coming up on the slate are BEEF, The Diplomat, and XO Kitty – the series spinoff to the All To The Boys film franchise. Howe was promoted to oversee all development tied to original drama series in 2020; in 2022 her remit expanded to include current programming, and she also now leads the TV Licensing function.

Recognized for her keen creative sensibility and her collaborative spirit, Howe has risen through the ranks of the industry as a talented television executive. Prior to joining Netflix, she was Executive Vice President of Television at John Wells Productions where she was responsible for spearheading the development and production of comedy and drama projects for cable and TV networks through the company’s first-look deal with Warner Bros. Television. Throughout her 13-year tenure at John Wells, Howe worked on renowned television series, Shameless, Southland, and Animal Kingdom.

In 2011, she served as an Associate Producer on Wells’ feature directorial debut, The Company Men, which starred Ben Affeck, Kevin Costner and Tommy Lee Jones, and was released by The Weinstein Company.

Prior to joining John Wells Productions, Howe worked at Brillstein Entertainment Partners in the talent division, where she further cultivated her ability to identify and engage up-and-coming talent.


Having emigrated to the US from South Korea at a very young age, Howe is very focused on championing the development of emerging underrepresented voices in the television landscape. She is an active member of the Hollywood Radio and Television Society, as well as the Television Academy. She holds a B.A. in Theater, Film and Television from UCLA.
