Being Direct (to consumer): Success in TV's new economy

In the footsteps of shoes, glasses, and beds, the direct-to-consumer (DTC) economy is reshaping media, with most major TV networks and studios predicted to have a DTC product in place by 2022. The benefits are clear: data aggregation for product development, a deeper relationship with the consumer, retention of market share in the face of cord-shaving. However, it is also high-cost and high-risk.
